Epiroc Announces Launch of New Safety Products at PDAC, Including Uphole Brake

At the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference from March 1-4, 2026 in Toronto, Epiroc will introduce new drilling safety and automation technologies. Leading the showcase is the Uphole Brake, an integrated safety module designed to automatically stop a free-falling inner tube assembly by deploying braking elements when excessive downward movement is detected, protecting drillers and equipment. The system allows easy retraction and retrieval at any point along the rod string. Epiroc will also feature the Diamec Automated Rod Magazine (ARM), which automates drill string operations, reduces operator fatigue, increases safety, and enhances productivity.
